Business Basic covers your email, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and the web and mobile versions of Office apps. It is a solid fit for staff who work mainly in a browser or on their phone. Business Standard adds fully installed desktop Office apps on up to five devices per user, plus full offline editing. If your team opens Word or Excel every day on a laptop, Standard is worth the difference. If most of your work happens in a browser or on the go, Basic covers it at a lower per-user cost.
Yes. Licensing is per user, so you can assign Basic to staff who only need email and web access and Standard to those who need the full desktop apps. You only pay for what each person actually needs.
Yes. Your existing domain carries over. The setup process points your domain's email records to the new mailboxes, so your addresses stay the same for customers and contacts.
Teams is included in both plans at no extra cost. You get the full calling, meeting, and messaging features your team needs without an additional subscription.
When a subscription ends, access to mailboxes and OneDrive files is suspended. Microsoft typically gives a grace period before data is removed, but it is not indefinite. This is one reason a separate backup is worth having alongside any cloud productivity licence.
